View openingsBeware of False Recruitment Offers
Osisko Development Corp. and Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. have recently become aware of attempts by certain individuals to solicit payments from job seekers to identify job opportunities or to cover interview expenses. Other recruitment hoaxes ask job seekers for extensive personal information in advance of interviews. These recruiters have been falsely representing that they are associated with Osisko Development Corp. or Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. Please be advised that we have no association with these individuals and do not conduct the hiring process in this manner.
We urge job applicants to carefully check and confirm the credentials of any person that represents themselves as being associated with Osisko Development Corp. or Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. before responding to any advertisements or e-mail solicitations. We further urge job applicants to critically assess requests made by any such recruiter. Unusual requests (such as requests for banking information) may be a sign that the recruiter is not engaged in a legitimate business activity.
Osisko Development Corp. and Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. career opportunities are advertised on our web site. Job seekers can view and apply for openings with the company directly as written in the job postings.
Sustainable Workforce Initiative
The Cariboo Gold Project is building on the legacy of gold mining in the Cariboo region – and we want to ensure people here share in the benefits. The project will create hundreds of good-paying, safe jobs – our goal is for 75% of our employees to come from the Cariboo Region.
Through our Sustainable Workforce Initiative, we’ll provide recognized and accredited training in the region, so people can get a good education and a good, family-supporting job here in the Cariboo. The Initiative has a particular focus on creating opportunities for Indigenous people, women, and other underrepresented groups in the mining industry.
The Sustainable Workforce Initiative is a local training program, which provides in-class education and practical experience allowing someone brand new to the mining industry to learn everything they need to know. We partner with local colleges, professional organizations, and government to give people health and safety training, practical operational experience, and all the tools they need to build a career with us, working in a variety of settings.
