ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

A generational investment: Innovative technologies will form the foundation of our project to preserve and protect the local habitat, water and wildlife. At Osisko, we strive to build and operate modern, safe, environmentally, and socially sustainable mines that benefit all and inspire others to do the same.

Lower carbon emissions

Using electric vehicles and equipment to reduce our environmental footprint and improve energy efficiency.

Protecting local habitats, water and air quality

To minimize our footprint, we will utilize historic mining sites (or brownfield sites), reclaim lands, and prioritize processes that ensure environmental sustainability.

PARTNERSHIPS WITH INDIGENOUS NATIONS

Relationships built on mutual trust and respect: We want to help build a future based on reconciliation. Guided by that commitment, we continue to establish partnerships with local Indigenous nations to co-create sustainable pathways for this project's development.

Opportunities and benefits for current and future generations

Signed a Life of Project Agreement with the Lhtako Dené Nation, a Participation Agreement with the Williams Lake First Nation, and we are currently in the process of negotiating a Participation Agreement with the Xatśūll First Nation.

Ongoing dialogue

Following the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to seek free, prior, and informed consent.
